The Lower Trent Source Protection Area is ~ 2170 sq km with a population of around 71,000 people. Trenton is the largest settlement and is 43% rural. Tourism, agriculture, and urban development are the main industries in the area. There are four municipal well systems and six municipal surface water supplies.
