About Us
The Trent Conservation Coalition is a partnership of five Conservation Authorities (Crowe Valley, Ganaraska Region, Kawartha, Lower Trent and Otonabee Conservation Authorities) working together with the Source Protection Committee and local municipalities to develop local source protection plans.
Under the umbrella of the Trent Conservation Coalition, the five Conservation Authorities are coordinating the collection of scientific information about water resources within our local watersheds (a combined 14,500 square kilometre drainage basin stretching from Algonquin Park to Lake Ontario and the Bay of Quinte). They will also facilitate the planning process with municipalities and other stakeholders.
Local Conservation Authorities carry out a number of water monitoring activities to help answer questions about local water resources including:
- Groundwater and surface water quality monitoring
- Stream flow monitoring
- Flood forecasting and warning
