Public Consultation on the Assessment Reports
The Clean Water Act and its regulations require that affected property owners, the general public, municipalities, First Nations and others have the opportunity to comment on the Assessment Reports. The development of the Assessment Reports includes two public consultation periods:
First consultation period
- June 2, 2010: Start of a 37-day public consultation period on the Draft Proposed Assessment Reports
- June 23 – July 6: Six public meetings will be held throughout the Source Protection Region (see details below)
- July 9, 2010: Deadline for written comments on the Draft Proposed Assessment Reports
Second consultation period
At the end of the first consultation period, all comments will be reviewed by the Trent Conservation Coalition Source Protection Committee and the documents will be revised. This 30 day consultation period is anticipated to occur in September.
Public Meetings
Public meetings have been scheduled to provide the public an opportunity to listen to a presentation, view mapping, speak with staff and provide comments on the Draft Proposed Assessment Reports.
- June 23 – Baltimore Recreation Centre, 23 Community Centre Road, Baltimore (google map)

- June 28 – Stone Hall, 6713 Hwy 7, Havelock (google map)
- June 29 – Camp Kawartha Environment Centre , 2505 Pioneer Road, Peterborough (google map)
- July 5 – Cartwright Town Hall, 13940 Old Scugog Road, Blackstock (google map)
- July 6 – Rotary Hall, Stirling Grand Trunk Railway Station, 122 North Street, Stirling (google map)
The meetings are scheduled from 3 PM to 8 PM with a formal presentation at approximately 3:30 PM and 6:30 PM.
How to Comment?
In addition to being available on this website, the Draft Proposed Assessment Reports for the Trent Conservation Coalition Source Protection Region can be seen at the following Conservation Authority offices:
- Crowe Valley Conservation Authority
- Ganaraska Region Conservation Authority
- Kawartha Conservation
- Lower Trent Conservation
- Otonabee Conservation
Digital copies (DVD) are also available at conservation authority and municipal offices.
The public is welcome to submit written comments regarding the Draft Proposed Terms of Reference during a 35-day comment period which ends July 9, 2010 by:
